One skill that I am especially proud of is my knowledge and intuition to learn and apply new technologies.  Ever since I was young and pagers were brought to the market, technology has been a passion of mine.  When I was seventeen I was employed with Alpha Computers.  They taught me how to build computers and how to test the software.  Now that we are in an age where technology is changing constantly, my love of technology gives me a powerful edge.

An example of my knowledge of technology is a resume that I created for my e-business class.  The resume was created using HTML editor.  Most people know how to apply HTML but they don't know how to create it.  Others don't even know what HTML is.  Before continuing, please click https://altezza24417.tripod.com/html.doc,  to view the HTML coding that was used to produce a resume.

This resume was not a real resume but don't let that fool you into thinking that it is not important.  This resume was created using HTML editor.  HTML means Hyper Text Markup Language.  It is the predominant markup language for web pages.  Microsoft Publisher and SharePoint, Tripod Lycos, Google Pages, and other popular website creators use HTML to create fancy websites.  Other college graduates might know how to work the new technology but don't fully understand it, which can lead them into problems down the road.  This resume is important to me because it represents knowledge of how a simple technology was created and then transformed into something much bigger.  It is very easy to drag and drop into already created website layouts, but what if you run into a problem?  That is where my technology skills start to become important.  All those websites can be fixed or modified as long as you know the technology behind them.  HTML coding is not hard to use but it is very tedious work.  It requires opening and closing every line of your document while also entering the words and pictures into your document.

Three weeks after I started my internship, the lawyers in my law firm were talking about designing a website.  I stated that I had learned HTML and other website editors such as Publisher, FrontPage, Lycos, and SharePoint.  As soon as I graduate I will get the opportunity to work on their website with them.  My ability to understand technology will help me add value in the future by possessing the ability to keep older employees up to date.

Next I explain how my thinking ability helped me to develop a new product and solve a complex problem for Chiquita Banana.  To read how click Skill 3 Thinking.
